Job Title: Software Designer Network Management

Our client is a global leader in Aerospace, defence and related services and they are looking for a Software Designer who will support the architectural and detailed design and implementation of major functions within Network Management, and be responsible for the detailed implementation design, coding and testing of this function and subsequent support to the Smart-Deploy integration.

The successful Software Designer will need to have a good degree (Bsc/BEng), or equivalent, in software, electronics of communications engineering.

It is essential for the successful Software Designer to have the following skills:

Experience in OO software design, using the UML and model-driven development.
2 years in Java development
GUI development using SWING
Database design and SQL programming skills are required
Development with XML technologies
Full software lifecycle including software integration testing and support

Desirable skills and experience include:

Java development using Spring, Hibernate, Ant, Web Services, SOAP
Testing including unit testing using JUnit
Eclipse for software development
MySQL experience
Enterprise Architect 7.1 for design modelling using UML
Integrating open source technologies including OpenMap and JGraph
Build and configuration tools such as ClearCase. Ant and Cruise Control
