An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IBM WebSphere Technical Specialist/IBM WebSphere Administrator to join a well established blue chip organisation based in Clydebank.
As an IBM WebSphere Technical Specialist/IBM WebSphere Administrator you will be responsible for the infrastructure build for project delivery and resolution of complex operational problems.
You will be part of the technical support team covering both 3rd level support and project support, from design through to implementation and you will need to ensure that work is completed by the committed date.
You will be responsible to quickly resolve errors, to maintain good customer service and prevent service impact.
You will require the following skills:
Essential:
* Appropriate experience in the IT industry and experience in a WebSphere V5 or V6 Administrator role
* A keen understanding of WebSphere High Availability issues and impacts within a complex multi-platform environment
* Experience of the installation and configuration of IBM HTTP Server
* An understanding of Unix (specifically Solaris)
* Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Must be excellent team player
Desirable:
* Knowledge or experience on Tivoli Security Products
* Knowledge of J2EE development
* MQ series experience
* Java experience
* Experience of Clearcase
Your customer skills will be second to none as this is an extremely customer focused role.
Flexibility is essential for this role as you may be required to work outside the standard 9-5 working hours as many of the services operate 24/7 support.
