The applicant must be able to demonstrate competency and experience in:
Developing software using OOA/OOD methodologies.
C++/Java development on Unix and Windows platforms.
Configuration management of development artefacts through version control software; Knowledge of ClearCase would be an advantage.
Developing software for a multi-tiered, Client Server architecture.
Working to a quality controlled development methodology.
Programming to relational database management systems including an in-depth knowledge of SQL. Preferred exposure to Oracle 9 and beyond.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of the telecommunications industry, including such technologies as IP, Broadband and Next Generation Networks, ATM, FrameRelay and Transmission Networks would be an advantage.
