Migrate a large CVS repository of source code, binaries, and test scripts to ClearCase. The CVS repository has about 10 year’s worth of data and complex branches that will be reviewed and migrated. The ClearCase will be multisited in a Red Hat Linux 5.4 environment and integrated with ClearQuest.

The candidate will work with the current users of CVS to understand their usage model and replicate that in the ClearCase environment to minimize the disruption to their ways of working. Where ClearCase best practices require different ways of working, the candidate must identify and recommend them. In other words the ClearCase
1. Investigate and understand the current system
2. Understand the WoW of existing Enterprise recommended models of development
3. Design and build the new ClearCase environment
4. Migrate the code, build scripts, and other artifacts from CVS to ClearCase and make them fully functional (including testing)
5. Bring over all the history

The candidate should be able to design the new VOB structure, projects, components and streams as needed for the new environment.

Skills:
Excellent knowledge of Base ClearCase and UCM. Should be able to write triggers and scripts in perl. Should be able to write shell scripts on Linux.

Experience:
Must have 5 plus years of experience with deploying and managing ClearCase in both Window and Unix environments. Prefer candidates that have ClearQuest schema design CQ-UCM integration experience.

This is a one year plus project.

Please send in your resume to omnaidu@pmwiki.info ASAP.

Thanks,

Om, PMP
