Title:  Data Architect/Developer Compensation:  $0.00 to $0.00 per Hour Description:  Our client is seeking a Data Architect/Developer. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Data modeling and database design of relational and multi-dimensional data models, with database schema focused on functionality and performanceDefine and implement Extract/Transformation/Loading standards and rules.Design, develop and implement Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) processes, programs and scripts using structured software development method.Develop data/metadata models and technical specifications using standard modeling techniquesDefine technical standards; evaluate alternative protocols, tools and standards.Provide subject matter expertise in the maintenance of existing and creation of new Interface Control Documents (ICDs).Consult with analysts, data providers, and business operations staff to understand and elaborate data dissemination requirements and propose technical solutionsIdentify and develop prototypes to address requirements (both functional and non-functional)Analyze database issues and provide recommendations as required to support the Development and System Administration teams in the design, development, testing, and tuning of the supporting applications, queries, and or, the relational Oracle data base.Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production problemsCreate documentation of implemented ETL processes for knowledge sharing and hand-offDevelop impact assessments including level of effort estimates for design and implementation of new solutions or system enhancementsProvide technical leadership and direction to junior developers in implementing technical solutionsRequirements:  Qualifications: Significant experience with designing and implementing custom back-office ETL systems for complex and large size data applicationsExperience with enterprise-scale relational Data Models and Data Warehouse, including both relational and dimensional models and the use of standard data modeling tools, preferably ER/WinExperience with diagramming and documentation requirements, including ERD, Data Dictionary, Data Flow DiagramsExperience with modeling and managing metadataExperience with configuration management practices and proceduresExperience with Oracle 10gSignificant experience with developing Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures and anonymous blocks for data conversion purposesExperience with Perl and Korn shell scriptingKnowledge and understanding of approaches for business intelligence, data martsDemonstrated technical leadership in developing solutions for complex problemsExperience with providing technical leadership and direction to less experienced members of the teamExperience with modeling data using XML desiredExperience with XLST, XPath and XQuery, DOM and SAX parsers desiredExperience with SAS, ArcGIS, or Endeca information access software desiredCandidate must be able to quickly diagnose and debug technical challenges through reading code and supporting technical documentation.Candidate should have very strong teamwork, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, ability to work well independently and as part of the team.Candidate should be able to work with analysts, business operations staff, data providers, developers and DBAs.Candidate should have 5-10 years of progressive experience in the area of ETL program development and operationsTools: Erwin, Putty, Oracle client 10g, Rational ClearQuest/ClearCase, Quest Software TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, SASProgramming Languages: PL/SQL, Perl, Korn shell, XML, XSLT, SAS (desirable), ArcGIS (desirable), Ende
